"He [the angel Gabriel] went in and said to her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you... Do not fear, Mary, for you have found favor with God. You are to conceive in your womb and give birth to a Son." [Lk 1,28-31]
Let us be aware of the fact that, like the Blessed Virgin Mary, we also are filled with graces , each according to his or her own measure.
(on the large bead, and the others throughout the Rosary, we recite the Our Father ) Our Father, who art in heaven,...
(on each of the small beads of the decades of the Rosary, we recite the Hail Mary ) Hail Mary, full of grace,..... - (10x)

2. The Visitation (Monday & Saturday)
"Now it happened that as soon as Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the child leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She gave a loud cry and said: Blessed are you among all women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb."[Lk 1,41-42]
Let us also prepare the way of the Lord, by a life lived according to our faith and our own particular vocation among the people of God.
(on the large bead, and the others throughout the Rosary, we recite the Our Father ) Our Father, who art in heaven,...

By your Immaculate Heart, O Mary, show me how Jesus wants to be close to me, to give me all his love.

"Now, Lord, as you have promised, let your servant go in peace; for my eyes have seen the salvation which you have prepared in the sight of all nations; a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel."[Lk 2,29-32]
May our love for your Church, symbol of the heavenly Jerusalem, be in accord with the example of Jesus, who loved her, to the point of giving Himself up for her.

"... why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house? But they did not understand what he meant." [Lk 2,49-50]
Whether in the Temple, the desert, or on Calvary, we find in Christ the fundamental disposition to do the will of God. May this attitude be ours also.

1. Baptism in the Jordan (Thursday)
Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.... After Jesus was baptized, he came up out of the water, and the heavens opened up for him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending upon him like a dove. A voice came from the heavens, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."[Mt 3:13,17]
Baptism in the Jordan is first of all a mystery of light. Here, as Christ descends into the waters, the innocent one who became “sin” for our sake, the heavens open wide and the voice of the Father declares him the beloved Son, while the Spirit descends on him to invest him with the mission which he is to carry out.
(on the large bead, and the others throughout the Rosary, we recite the Our Father ) Our Father, who art in heaven,...
(on each of the small beads of the decades of the Rosary, we recite the Hail Mary ) Hail Mary, full of grace,..... - (10x)
(at the end of each decade, we recite the Glory be to the Father) Glory be to the Father,...
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those who have most need of your mercy.
2. Cana Wedding (Thursday)
"Everyone serves good wine first, and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one; but you have kept the good wine until now." Jesus did this as the first of his signs and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him.[Jn 2:10-11]
Another mystery of light is the first of the signs, given at Cana, when Christ changes water into wine and opens the hearts of the disciples to faith, thanks to the intervention of Mary, the first among believers.
3. Proclamation of Kingdom (Thursday)
Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God: "This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the good news."[Mark 1:14-15]
Another mystery of light is the preaching by which Jesus proclaims the coming of the Kingdom of God, calls to conversion and forgives the sins of all who draw near to him in humble trust: the inauguration of that ministry of mercy which he continues to exercise until the end of the world, particularly through the Sacrament of Reconciliation which he has entrusted to his Church.

4. Transfiguration (Thursday)
While he was still speaking, a cloud came and cast a shadow over them, and they became frightened when they entered the cloud. Then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my chosen Son; listen to him."[Luke 9:34-35]
The mystery of light par excellence is the Transfiguration, traditionally believed to have taken place on Mount Tabor. The glory of the Godhead shines forth from the face of Christ as the Father commands the astonished apostles to “listen to him” and to prepare to experience with him the agony of the Passion, so as to come with him to the joy of the Resurrection and a life transfigured by the Holy Spirit.
5. First Eucharist (Thursday)
"I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."[Jn 13:34-35]
A final mystery of light is the institution of the Eucharist, in which Christ offers his body and blood as food under the signs of bread and wine, and testifies "to the end" his love for humanity, for whose salvation he will offer himself in sacrifice.
(on the large bead, and the others throughout the Rosary, we recite the Our Father ) Our Father, who art in heaven,...
(on each of the small beads of the decades of the Rosary, we recite the Hail Mary ) Hail Mary, full of grace,..... - (10x)

Rosary - the sorrowful mysteries
. The Agony in the Garden (Friday & Tuesday)
"... Simon, are you asleep? Were you unable to stay awake even for one hour? ... Stay awake, and pray not to fall into temptation: the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."[Mk 14,37-38]
To be able to understand the salvific and redemptive value of suffering, let us learn how to stay awake with Jesus, so that he will forever protect our faith from falling asleep.
(on the large bead, and the others throughout the Rosary, we recite the Our Father ) Our Father, who art in heaven,...
(on each of the small beads of the decades of the Rosary, we recite the Hail Mary ) Hail Mary, full of grace,..... - (10x)

2. The Scourging at the Pillar (Friday & Tuesday)
"They spat upon him and took the reed and kept striking him on the head. And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the cloak, dressed him in his own clothes, and led him off to crucify him." [Mt. 27,30-31]
Let us learn from this that salvation does not always come about through greatness and honors, but also through humility and suffering.
(on the large bead, and the others throughout the Rosary, we recite the Our Father ) Our Father, who art in heaven,...
(on each of the small beads of the decades of the Rosary, we recite the Hail Mary ) Hail Mary, full of grace,..... - (10x)

3. The Crowning with Thorns (Friday & Tuesday)
"Weaving a crown out of thorns, they placed it on his head, and a reed in his right hand."[Mt. 27,29]
May our homage to Christ the King be always marked by respect, love and gratitude, because God made him Lord.
(on the large bead, and the others throughout the Rosary, we recite the Our Father ) Our Father, who art in heaven,...

4. The Carrying of the Cross (Friday & Tuesday)
"But if you endure suffering even when you have done right, God will bless you for it. It was to this that God called you, for Christ himself suffered for you and left you an example, so that you would follow in his steps." [1Peter. 2,20-21]
Can we ever comprehend this mysterious and liberating maxim that says: "Who loses, wins, and who wins, loses?" We can only really live and understand this precept when we walk in his footsteps.
(on the large bead, and the others throughout the Rosary, we recite the Our Father ) Our Father, who art in heaven,...
(on each of the small beads of the decades of the Rosary, we recite the Hail Mary ) Hail Mary, full of grace,..... - (10x)

5. The Crucifixion and Death (Friday & Tuesday)
"My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? I have called desperately for help, and still it does not come. During the day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer; I call at night, but get no rest ... Our ancestors put their trust in you; they trusted you, and you saved them."[Ps. 22,1-4]
Let us welcome Jesus and his teachings, especially when all seems lost. This is when our purified faith will grow. Let us invite Mary into our life by imitating her virtues.

Rosary - the glorious mysteries
1. The Resurrection (Sunday & Wednesday)
"What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that what is made of flesh and blood cannot share in God's kingdom, and what is mortal cannot possess immortality. Now I am going to tell you a mystery ... we shall all be changed in an instant."[1Cor. 15,50-51]
Faced with our hearts so slow to believe, Lord, grant us a hunger for your words, so that we can be continually alert to your presence, and so that we can ourselves be living witnesses of your Resurrection.

Lord, you are the hope of our future glory, who elevates our desire to see you in the sacrament of the present moment. Your presence there, you who are also so close to your Father, proclaims and assures our entry into heaven.

"For the spirit that God has given you does not make you slaves and cause you to be afraid; instead, the spirit makes you God's children, and by the Spirit's power we cry out to God: Abba! Father! So God's Spirit joins himself to our spirit to declare that we are God's children."[Rom. 8,15-16]
United in the Spirit of love, let us respect and serve Christ in our brothers and sisters, and may he grant us the gift of showing signs of his presence in us.

4. The Assumption of Mary (Sunday & Wednesday)
"May God exalt you forever, and may he reward you, because you have risked your own life for the cause of our humiliated nation, and you have intervened to prevent our ruin."[Jd. 13,20]
The triumph of Mary is the guarantee of our own triumph, and it is our hope, because she is the Mother and the model of the Church. People of God, let us praise the Lord Jesus for having glorified his Mother, both her soul and her body.
(on the large bead, and the others throughout the Rosary, we recite the Our Father ) Our Father, who art in heaven,...

"I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for he has clothed me with garments of salvation, he has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels."[Is. 61,10]
In Mary, the Word of God found a willing servant; may this same Word find an echo in our hearts and become a reality in us to the fullest.
